Learn more about
the farms behind
Huus Vom Valais

Behind Huus Vom Valais are two farms with a shared appreciation for well-raised animals and the work that goes into building a strong breeding program. What started as a conversation between friends who both raise livestock quickly grew into a partnership focused on bringing Valais Blacknose sheep to their farms.

Webb Cattle Company has built its reputation raising Scottish Highland cattle in North Missouri, with a focus on healthy animals and thoughtful breeding decisions. Herbaria Highlands began as a small family homestead and has grown into a program centered around miniature cattle and hands-on livestock care.

Together, they bring years of experience, a shared love for the animals they raise, and a commitment to doing things the right way. Haus of Valais is the next chapter in that work.

We spend time watching our sheep.

When you spend enough time around sheep, you start to notice the little things. How a lamb grows over the first few months. Which ones carry themselves well. Which animals hold their structure as they mature.

Those things do not show up overnight. They show up from watching the flock day after day and season after season. That kind of time with the animals helps us understand which sheep are moving the flock in the right direction.

Our lambs grow up
around people.

Our sheep are raised where people are part of everyday farm life. Lambs see us in the pasture, around the barn and during normal chores, so being around people is just part of their routine.

That makes a difference as they grow. Sheep that are used to people are easier to handle, easier to move, and usually settle into new homes without much stress.

We care about how
our flock develops.

A good flock is built over years, not in a single lambing season. Each group of lambs tells you something about where the program is heading.

We pay attention to how animals develop as they grow and how the flock looks as a whole over time. The goal is steady improvement each year and sheep that continue to represent the kind of flock we are working toward.
